I have participated in a hike on Hadrian's Wall, I performed this during college, and had to work closely with a group of people to successfully complete large portions of a hike each day; this achievement was successfully completed through the use of communication, leadership, motivation, hard work, and determination, as it was very daunting and hot. I took the role of leadership during this task, where I also partook in a lot of map reading, meaning I had to ensure that we were taking the correct route so that we would not get lost; as the leader, I also had to motivate the members of my team, to ensure that we all made it to the end, and I feel with my leadership it ensured that we were able to complete the hike successfully. I also partook in an exercise at an army base in Shrewsbury, whilst at college, where we had to work alongside people to deal with an imaginary scenario of a flooding; me and my partner were given the role as police officers, tasked with the evacuation, and we were given little information regarding the area, so we had to be innovative and open-minded regarding where we were going to send the fleeing people, and ensure the quick and safe evacuation of everyone; overall, we were the best group, decided by high ranking members of the Army, and this exercise showed that I can work closely and effectively with people I had just met, as we had to collaborate with other people who took the role of other emergency services.
