As a firefighter control operator, I am the link between the general public and firefighting operation on the incident ground. Firefighter control operators take on a varied role from answering then dispatching to to 999 emergencies, ensuring county wide availability of appliances and officers, operating AIRWAVE radios, maintaining admin within control and providing survival guidance where necessary.
Working at Essex outdoors would require me to prepare and run a broad number of activities and sessions for all ages and abilities, including individuals with special educational needs. From archery and climbing to bush craft and problem solving. Ensuring that all participants are enjoying themselves and are proactive in the sessions are a vital part of this role. I would also be expected to maintain a safe and well-presented environment.
The work in which I would undertake would require me to run sessions of up 12 individuals and show exceptional passion and leadership skills.
Oversee the successful dispatch of up to 4500 parcels per day
Effectively manage and prioritise large numbers of orders, ensuring timely order processing in line with company targets.
Report distribution issues and concerns to MD, ensuring uninterrupted quality customer care.
Assist with general day-to-day administrative duties. Meticulously check paperwork for errors and inaccuracies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of stock levels. Open new products and organise for optimal picking
efficiency.

I was awarded the Chief Scout’s Platinum Award and have been a Young Leader for a local Beaver Pack. These experiences have helped to grow my skills from field craft to Environmental preservation and sailing to personal growth and leadership skills. I am also a keen volunteer at my local activity Centre where I have learned many desirable and transferable skills, from using strimmer’s and machinery to leading groups of adults and children in a variety of activities, such as crate stacking, archery, riffle shooting and pedal go karts.
