Bar staff member
Hap Solutions
Glasgow, Glasgow City
06.2025 - Current
This job required me to be very time efficient and organised when handling stock and deliveries even at busy times behind the bar.
The role also saw me interact with customers, this is something I feel I thrive at, maintaining a helpful and polite attitude towards the customer offering any help that I can give whenever and wherever I can.
I was required to keep on top of stock filling and management in order to provide the right quality of product to our customers, this is another aspect I feel came very easily to me due to my likeness to work efficiently.
I was required to make many different kinds of drinks, developing my ability to work effectively behind a bar.
Store Assistant
Lidl
Dalry, North Ayrshire
I loved working this job as it kept me busy and interactive with the customers as I often worked on the tills. Due to this, I feel as though my customer service and efficiency saw a big improvement, becoming one of my stronger traits in the workplace.
I enjoyed talking to the customers and helping them in any way that I could, and my time management greatly increased when doing stock for an opening or closing shift.
Due to the short number of staff on shift at Lidl, I grew accustomed to working accurately, very efficiently and my ability to multitask greatly aided myself and the team on busy days.
Service Member
McDonald’s
Ayr, South Ayrshire
This role saw me work efficiently and effectively when taking, making or presenting orders.
Working in fast food saw me work to a short window of time as to maintain that the restaurant runs as fluently as possible, my ability to work with a team allowed for a healthy and productive work environment.
I often had to interact with customers as well, allowing me to develop and demonstrate my skills working with the public.
Floor and Bar Team Member
Vic’s and The Vine
Prestwick, South Ayrshire
This role saw me manage multiple orders simultaneously for faster service delivery as well as occasionally run the pass which saw me take management over the orders that went out, planning where each of my co-workers went and when.
At the time I was completing my final year of secondary school and had exam commitments which unfortunately saw me leave the position.
Kitchen Porter
Venice Café & Bistro
Troon, South Ayrshire
This manual work involved following instructions and working to time scales. I was required to clean the entire cafe as well as remove all rubbish, taking out the bins and ensuring that everything was kept orderly.
Additionally, this position allowed me to develop good skills working as part of a team and working under pressure at times when we were very busy. I often had to help with the front of house service as we didn't have a lot of staff at the time which helped me to build my strengths working in hospitality.
Before the café was shut down, I was beginning to be trained to make all of the different coffees as I was about to be made a front of house member permanently.
