Additional information

In my overall work experience at both college and university, I have worked with and alongside a range of services and individuals. I have gained experience working in a pre-school, working with young adults who have disabilities and have worked in a homeless shelter providing care, support and food to adults who are in need within my local community.  In compliance with my university course I completed two full-time work placements in Children's Social Care and Services. I completed a 70 day placement working with Looked After Children, and completed a 100 day placement in my final year working in a Children's Assessment Team. Both placements enabled me to gain, develop and better my skills practicing as a social work student and to further develop now I am qualified. My course overall has allowed me to develop understanding of a social work role within local authorities, communities, families and individual lives. I have gained basic understanding of the importance of a supporting body across communities and those who are in need of services to support in their day-to-day lives. Placement experience has allowed me to work with and alongside vulnerable groups of people to help make a positive change and better their lives.
