Responsible for the delivery of all of NHC’s patient facing services, providing leadership and guidance at the highest level for colleagues and patients in order to maintain clinical excellence, improve the services we deliver and to promote patient voice and understanding.
This includes leadership of the award winning NHC Roving Team, developed to support the most vulnerable and marginalised residents in Newham.
I lead a team of over 100 staff in permanent and bank/temporary roles and have responsibility for contract and budget delivery and ensuring robust clinical governance systems are in place and maintained to maximise the clinical effectiveness of services consistent with national standards, NICE guidance and CQC requirements.
Working closely with local Commissioners and residents I lead the development of new services to meet the needs of the local population, with responsibility for developing NHC’s patient and community engagement strategy and overseeing its delivery.
I am a key member of the NHC Senior Leadership team, reporting to the CEO and Board to deliver the organisations business plan.
Main duties include:
· Overarching responsibility and strategic leadership of the delivery priorities of NHC patient services including all operational management, working with service managers, clinical leads and delivery staff with a focus on quality and patient experience.
· Recruit, manage and lead the patient services staff, supporting their personal growth and development, ensuring they have access to the appropriate data and skills to ensure high quality patient services.
· Work in partnership with other provider and partner organisations to deliver high quality integrated services wherever possible ensuring that policies, procedures and information sharing are in place to support the joint provision of services.
· Lead on developing new patient services working closely with commissioners and other providers to support pathway re-designs and identify new opportunities and contracts.
· Manage patient service contracts or sub-contracts delivered by NHC on behalf of member General Practices ensuring that all contractual requirements are met.
· Ensure robust clinical governance systems are in place and maintained to maximise the clinical effectiveness of services consistent with national standards, NICE guidance and CQC requirements.
· Responsible for implementing quality improvement programmes where suitable.
· Engage and enable the meaningful involvement of service users and carers in the development, delivery and monitoring of services, ensuring engagement is founded on the best evidence of patient views and delivered in partnership with patients
· Work with the NHC Board to ensure service developments are aligned to Board priorities.
· Work with the Director of Finance to actively manage services budgets ensuring efficient delivery and a focus on value for money.
· Work as part of our senior leadership team to guide the NHC Board, inform the planning and organisational development for the Federation.
