I am a hard-working and attentive front of house waitress with a strong customer service skill set - in a busy coffee shop setting. When Public and Plants opened (January 2026) , it was extremely busy everyday - due to its platform. This allowed me to develop my time-management skills and flexability as I was working across multiple sections (food pass, drinks run and clearing) simultaneously.
My time at Public and Plants has allowed me to build upon my communication skills. For example, I have gained the confidence to approach customers to ensure that everything is as it should be with their food/drinks and overall experience. I use good eye contact, listen to what they are and aren't saying whilst prioritising my tasks.
My 9 months of experience being Front of House in a coffee house has allowed me to develop knowledge on how to manage unpredictable settings effectively. By ensuring effective communication with my colleagues, it has allowed me to work in a fast pace environment as part of a team but I am also comfortable working independently and am able to use my own initiative well.
My time at Public and Plants has made me a self-motivated individual, showing my managers that I am reliable to show up not only when scheduled but also when needed. I arrive on time and work over-time if needed to support my team.
I have been inspired by my team members to progress in my personal skills, I would like to train to become a barrister as I enjoy the aspects of creativity that is included within it.
When clean, I ensured that all silverware and pots were placed correctly in the correct section (for example the cutlery being placed out at the front for customers)
