I have been working as an assistant to teachers for more than 6 years. My responsibilities included:

School experiences:
As an experienced teaching assistant who has worked in a special needs school for over 3 years. Able to develop effective working relationships with staff and pupils. Can support the class teacher and individual pupils, following lessons and learning plans also risk assessment. Has a good grasp of the national curriculum and how this relates to special needs pupils. Emphatic and sensitive to pupil's needs and emotions. Has a special insight into conditions such as dyslexia, autism, and other learning disabilities. Works to promote pupils’ independence. Support pupils with activities between lessons. Can work on a one-to-one with challenging students. Has been trained in techniques to manage challenging behavior safely and has undertaken extensive health and safety training. Is passionate about promoting each pupil’s independence and development. I changed my job role to be a teaching assistant on one to one in a mainstream classroom setting. My job role is to support the child with social and academic development.
Therapeutic experiences:
I realised that my skills were more suited towards helping children with their emotional and social needs, rather than academically.
Therefore, in 2022 I decided to study play therapy through PTUK (Play Therapy UK). I finished 200 clinical hours. I have worked with 15 clients and their families. I experienced working with children with range of needs including trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, developmental challenges and parents separation. I have worked with 2 different schools as my placements. I hold Certificate in Theraputic Play. I am registered with PTUK. I am working towards Diploma Level in Play Therapy, since May 2024. My portfolio is due to November. I am very positive and excited about my next therapeutic work. In the future, I would like to do supervisor training with PTUK.
Agency employed me as HLTA, but school employed me as Class TA level 2.
Main responsibilities:
· Deliver learning programmes and support individual pupils, small groups
· Use specialist (curricular learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils
· Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs
· Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
· Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities

During this period, I have worked with 5 individual clients, 4 of them had 20 sessions, 1 of them had 30 sessions and 1 group work with 3 clients - 7 sessions. I used SDQ and other paperwork, just as referral forms, parents' permission, risk assessment and end reports for schools. I do have experience with parents' interviews, writing letters for parents and teachers and how to deal with parents when it comes to play therapy. Overall, I managed all necessary correspondence and kept all parties up-to-date.
Therapeutic work with children - achieve 100 clinical hours in September 2023.
During this period I have worked with 7 clients, all of them had more than 12 sessions. I used SDQ and other paperwork, just as referral forms, parent's permission and risk assessment. I had experience with parent's interviews and how to deal with parents when it comes to play therapy.

Volunteering
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a mentor, I provided support and guidance to help school pupils, who were experiencing difficulties in learning due to social, emotional, or behavioral problems. I was working with children of age on a secondary school level on a one-to-one basis or with a small group of children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a mental health assistant was recording patients' physical condition by taking vital signs and observing behaviour. I was providing patients with assistance with daily tasks. With the help of other medical staff, we organized social or recreational activities and encouraged patient participation.
