03.2007 - Current
  • 2007-2013-worked as a child and family support officer in a front line safeguarding team. I was involved in supporting social workers with initial and core assessments, s47 enquiries, LAC children, care proceedings, adoption work, supervised contact and duty matters. I also had the opportunity of undertaking life story work for children and young people which was extremely rewarding.
  • July 2013-July 2021-social worker in LAC team-working with 14-18 year old young people and overseeing care plans as the case manager. Implementing safeguarding procedures, following the All Wales Child protection guidelines, LAC legislation and leaving care. Effectively handling high volume case loads with competing and complex needs.
  • Working with a range of needs-childhood abuse and neglect, ACE's, mental health needs, domestic violence, substance misuse, self harm, FGM and honour based violence, teenage pregnancy, CSE and missing young people. Working within multi agency forum to reduce risk and focus on outcomes for young people and their families.
  • July 2021 to current day-senior social worker in 16 plus team. Supervising student social workers, support workers and young persons' advisors; alongside managing a complex case-load of young people. Working with transitions to adult services and care planning.
  • Consistently demonstrate professional judgement and a trauma informed approach to achieve positive outcomes and change alongside service users.
