Summary

My career in social care began in 2006 as a support worker supporting older people within nursing and residential settings. After several years of supporting adults, I transferred my skills to support children and young people with Autism and ADHD who resided in residential settings that provided therapeutic and holistic support through tailored support plans. Throughout my journey within social care and during my 3 and half years as a qualified social worker, I have become an empathetic and persuasive individual with a background in evaluating and addressing individual client needs and concerns.

My training and my experiences in conducting individual and group interviews to assess needs and situations are continually developing through ongoing training and peer reflection. All of the while developing my skills and supporting others through my own experiences and what I can bring to the teams that I work with.

The experiences of working within a busy child protection team and child-looked-after teams my ability to respond calmly to manage crises and emergencies has grown over the years. Within my role, I am part of a duty team in which a crisis can come through which requires immediate action, or signposting to the relevant professional with the skill set to support and deliver a package of need

Although qualified I view myself as a continued motivated and committed social worker willing to develop my skills and knowledge with a passion for helping others receive much-needed support. With my social care background and years of experience in record keeping and partnership working I have been able to continue to show excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with people from diverse backgrounds.

Although qualified I remain prepared to learn quickly, develop my onset of skills, and support the team that I am working closely with. I continue to show I am a dedicated and dependable individual with strengths in communication and emotional intelligence. I continually show that I am focused on using comprehensive education and training to build a solid career foundation. With my determination, I continue to seek out opportunities to gain a deeper understanding and direct experience.

A knowledgeable social worker with experience in providing tailored support to help service users increase independence and quality of life. I am and I show that I am a dedicated and motivated individual with strong knowledge of safeguarding principles to protect service users and staff from risk. I view myself as a caring and compassionate social care professional, who is committed to offering first-class, individualized support to service users.

As a children's qualified social work professional trained to handle complex child looked after cases, I am required to and have shown an ability to collaborate professionally across disciplines to obtain needed care and support for children and their families under the auspices of care orders. Compassionate children's social workers are experienced in developing bespoke support plans for vulnerable individuals. Through care pre-planning and meeting with professionals I have been able to ensure that the support offered to children and families is tailored to their needs to make for brighter futures for children and families.

To offer and gain a positive working relationship with parents it is important to quickly build rapport with service users to optimize assessments, interventions, and program outcomes. I am a motivated Social Worker with comprehensive knowledge of social justice issues and systems affecting marginalized communities. I use this knowledge to help build assessments, and signposts to the correct support services for maximum support and delivery of service. I am an Invested Social Worker dedicated to forming trusting relationships and advocating for the best interest of clients, I can show this by ensuring that I am up to date with current affairs and outside elements that are affecting families. I am a respectful and compassionate professional offering a 17-year background serving the community by guiding clients in need. Skills

  • During my years as a children's social worker and my time previously as a residential children support worker, I have been able to recognize and implement plans that inhabit Child welfare policies and utilized the strengths of protective services within my practice,
  • The experience that working in the health social care field for 13 years as a support worker and the past 3 and half years as a social worker I have to build up my Emotional resilience to continue doing the work that id do Developing my emotional resilience has allowed me to grow in confidence and recognize my skillset through the experiences my role has provided me With that, I am able to be a consistent advocate for the children and families that I work with on a daily basis
  • Over the years I have developed writing skills, report writing, and ensuring that the records I keep are relevant, to the point, and most importantly written without bias In the world of social work, we are scrutinized for record-keeping within the documentation that we keep, families expect confidentiality and trust us with their information, confidential documentation and record-keeping are imperative to community trust
  • As with any career in the public eye, a strong sense and display of strong communication is imperative for record-keeping, and building trust with families and service users I have been able to show a strong sense of communication within the verbal and written word
  • Within social work being an attentive listener, this is especially important with Emotional interviewing with service users to show we are actively listening, taking interest in their voice, and allowing them to problem solve with the support of an active listener
  • The years of working with people, within a team, and with other professionals I have been able to develop excellent interpersonal skills Within social work, this is especially important as we are entering people's lives at the most stressful times and they do not want to feel judged but want to be heard and understood, whilst receiving recognition for the strengths and areas of development that may need an outside looking in

Interests

Hobbies and Interests , When I am not working, I enjoy family life, ensuring I am there for my 2 children and being present in their lives discussing school, friends and their feelings. I am a passionate reader and am curious of the mind and behaviors of others, and I look forward to specializing in that area one day.
