As someone who is a passionate individual I thrive on supporting those with complex needs and, require support be it someone who needs an advocate and Motivational voice, which has allowed me to be privy to the progression and growth of those individuals with who I have the pleasure of working with. I have been witness to the determination and change in my client's driven by achievable goals to create a safer living environment with stability enabling the individual to live a well balanced life as they transition and reintegrate back into society. This is evident and shown through my experience and written work producing positive outcomes. I am a fanatic about criminology and Psychology and am fascinated in how the mind works. What provokes an individual to act and behave in a certain manner/ what characteristics/make-up of a person's brain enables one individual to be set aside from another and deemed acceptable in our communities. Nature or Nurture which in turn can lead to homelessness and addiction for instance.
Being able to encourage positive patterns of thinking enabling one to recognise their strengths as well as identifying areas' in which an individual may wish to improve. Feelings and or ideas may be evoked where emotions are brought to the forefront which can then be transferred into a care plan for persons which takes practice and a skill that I posses and bodes well when supporting hard to reach, complex services users.
Having a timeline of ones life journey and seeing the map of their life visually can allow the individual and give that person something to work from in identifying, barriers, triggers, situations, people, places motivations and emotions to begin taking responsibility leading to setting achievable goals.
Creative writing is something that I encourage and have championed my service users to use whether that be through spoken words, poetry, song writing.
