
Employed in this role from April 2020 until I transferred over to the theatres at St Michaels Hospital .
This role consisted of all aspects of patient care, mainly the elderly, washing, feeding, dressing , routine observations , re positioning and all personal care. This was carried out at all times with professionalism, empathy and care whilst ensuring patient safety and dignity was paramount.
All patients required lots of assistance and many requiring reasurrence as they had many health issues and disabilities. Also this was the start of covid so there where no visitor's allowed which made the job especially difficult for both patients and staff.
I am a dedicated Hospital Theatre Assistant, supporting safe and efficient care by preparing the operating theatres whilst maintaining sterile environments. I take pride in upholding high standards of infection control, teamwork and patient safety to ensure every operation runs smoothly.
My responsibilities include preparing equipment and instruments ensuring that the correct sets are on hand for the said operation, maintaining strict infection control standards, transporting patients and assisting the scrub team and surgeons throughout procedures. I work in a calm and professional manor in a fast paced environment, always prioritising patient safety, dignity and high quality care.

This includes ensuring that I have listened to the brief for the days operating list and work efficiently throughout the day using the information given on each patient to ensure that things like comorbidities , disabilities and allergies are taken into account when collecting patients from the ward . Checks are completed by myself, the nurse and the patient to ensure that I am taking the correct patient for the consented operation.
I have an understanding of the hospitals policies and protocol and maintain data protection, Human Factors, Radicalisation, Manual Handling, Waste management, Medical gases, Gases and oxygen, Dementia and many others on the trusts ESR training system.
Whilst working I remain loyal ,honest and dedicated to to the team and patients.
In this role I assisted an elderly lady in her own home who had dementia.
Patient comfort was provided by carrying out all personal care , bathing and grooming.
Medication was ordered, administered and records kept of doses and times given and the controlled drugs record updated with each administer.
All housework and meals was provided by myself along with dressing, putting to bed and rising .
This was all carried out whilst keeping the patient comfortable, calm, safe and reassured.
At the same time I assisted a client who was paralysed from the chest down , this client also was cared for in the same same professional caring manor. The needs were far more complex and all medication was administered via the peg feeding tube . I also carried out tracheostomy tube cleaning and clearing the chest through this using a cough assist .
These roles gave me great pleasure and pushed me to join the NHS as unfortunately both clients had to go into care as they became to complex to be in their
I was the co owner and operator of a specialist photographic shop, providing high quality photo and canvas printing and framing to a wide range of customers, managing all aspects of the business, from customer service and digital image processing, stock control accounts, banking and quality assurance whilst maintaining a high quality customer service and relationships encouraging repeat business through trust and reliability.
Whilst working in this school I helped primary aged children learn ,grow and feel confident in the classroom. I worked closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities, provide one to one and small group support and created a positive, inclusive learning environment. I am skilled at encouraging children of all abilities and manged behaviour calmly and adapted tasks to meet individuals needs.
I was and still remain patient, organised, motivated and happy in my work.
