• I was employed in CAAD center (Center of Aging and Associated Diseases). And I started a line of research regarding mitochondrial physiology in relation to pathophysiology of substance abuse/dependence, and neurotoxicity resulting from some environmental poisons such as acute carbon monoxide sequel
• I was awarded a scientific internship to Austria for training on High Resolution Respirometry (HRR) which is designed for measurement of efficiency of mitochondrial respiration and electron transport system (ETS) in biological samples (Medical University of Innsbruck- under supervision of Prof Dr. Erich Gnaiger)
• I worked on brains of mice of variable ages (for sake of training) for comparative mitochondrial physiological studies
• Worked with principal investigators to coordinate qualitative research of mitochondrial physiology in aging

• In the second year, I was assigned to work in Nasser Institute for Research and Treatment- Cairo where I was invoved in the training program for one year (Internal Medicine)
• A postgraduate diploma of Internal Medicine was obtained during this period
