Roles and Responsibilities:

• Checking the equipment to be used for the surgery and making certain that all instruments and equipment required for the surgery are set
• Participating in all safety procedures including safety briefings and WHO Safer Surgery check-list, swab needle and instrument counts, management of clinical specimens etc
• Working as a skilled member of the perioperative team, and be responsible for the assessment of care given to patients within the operating theatre and other areas where operative / invasive procedures are performed
