During my two year placement, I also gained valuable experience at Kingston Hospital, further developing my clinical knowledge and understanding of medicines use in secondary care. I am currently working on a temporary basis for the Ham Pharmacy Group, having started in February while awaiting my registration. My responsibilities include a range of community pharmacy duties such as supporting the dispensing process, handling prescription queries, assisting patients, and helping to ensure the safe and efficient running of the pharmacy.
During my two year placement at Kirkby's my role involved.
· Supporting the day to day running of a busy community pharmacy
· Dispensing NHS and private prescriptions accurately in line with legal and professional standards
· Using Proscript and PMR to process prescriptions and manage patient records
· Assisting with accuracy checking, labelling, assembly and final prescription preparation
· Providing patient facing support, including advice on prescribed and over the counter medications
· Responding to patient queries regarding prescriptions, availability and medication use
· Delivering NHS community services-blood pressure checks, flu and covid vaccinations, NMS and smoking cessation
· Delivering private services- weight management and travel vaccines
· Maintaining stock control, ordering, expiry date checks and storage including controlled drugs
· Ensuring compliance with GPHC standards, SOP’s and health and safety requirements

I worked in primary care as a Medicines Management Assistant from 2014-2024. My duties covered all aspects of medicines management.
· Managing the full repeat prescription process in line with NHS and practice protocols
· Processed and reviewed repeat and acute prescription requests within agreed guidelines
· Handled high volumes of prescription requests accurately and efficiently
· Liaised daily with GP’s, pharmacists, community pharmacies and patients to resolve prescription queries
