I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in pursuing a career as an electrician, in my free time I enjoy sports and general health and fitness. I am currently studying a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical installations, in which I'm hoping to finish with a distinction. I have great interpersonal skills and am an active listener which allows me to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Alongside my college course I have recently been taking on work experience with Space Electrical. During my time with them I have been working in London helping with commercial office fit-outs, I have cut out floor and wall sockets, second fixed sockets, helped with pulling in cable and getting power to floor grommets.
It has given me experience working with other trades and developing my communication and teamwork along with improving my skills using power tools which we do not get the opportunity to do in college.
In total I completed 88 hours of work experience with Loxton installations. During my time doing work experience with Loxton's I was working in the workshop with the technician helping put boards of different uses together, tidying, taking in deliveries and dropping things off to work sites. This work experience gave me an idea of the type of work commercial firms take on and taught valuable communication skills between co-workers in order to run a smooth operation.
Throughout school I did work experience at MBE Fasteners, from working here it gave me the opportunity to communicate with different trades and engineering firms to learn about what they do. It also developed many competencies such as teamwork, confidence, my initiative while working alone and punctuality.
I also got to learn about different materials used for different applications.
