Summary

From a stranger’s point of view, I am simply the image they gather from a few seconds of their attention. From a familiar point of view, I’m light-hearted, cheerful, and reliable. However, from a professional perspective, I am a conscientious and highly motivated individual with a strong drive to meaningfully contribute to the criminal justice sector. With some valuable and beneficial experience within the prison system, I have experienced the sensitive nature that is needed to ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in all aspects of my work. I believe I am an outgoing individual that thrives in dynamic work environments. Whilst this does mean I enjoy creating relationships with my coworkers, I can recognise the need to prioritise my workload and effectively engage with diverse tasks presented to me. I’ve always been organised, detail-oriented and efficient whilst also always looking to broaden and improve my skills overall, especially when I am passionate. I believe these skills are essential to navigating the complexities of intelligence, defence, and criminal justice systems. I appreciate that while I am still a young adult, I am eager to dive into my full-time professional career and approach it with both maturity and excitement in order to broaden my knowledge and skills in any and all aspects of this field.

Work history

Substance Misuse Practitioner

Phoenix Futures
Greater London
09.2024 - 05.2025
  • Alongside my final year of University, I had the exciting opportunity to apply for a placement module with a community-based practice of my choice. Gratefully, I successfully gained a place volunteering with Phoenix Futures, specifically their sector within HMP Belmarsh, London.
  • Despite only being in the prison one day a week, I have gained valuable insights through the hands-on work that I get to experience, which I know I would not normally be able to achieve whilst still studying at University. By volunteering as a Substance Misuse Practitioner, I work closely with inmates, prison officers, and other substance practitioners to gain a well-rounded view of the inner workings of the HMP service.
  • I am entrusted to come in and out of the prison by myself, by picking up my own set of keys upon entry and holding that responsibility with pride. I have enjoyed working within a well-woven team that immediately created such a nurturing, co-operative environment that allows me to continuously improve my knowledge and communication.
  • During my placement, I have had the time to develop my ability to understand the complex natures faced within the workload, which in turn has reiterated the importance of approaching this role with open-mindedness in order to provide sensitive, but beneficial, care. This was done by conducting thorough assessments to determine patients' treatment needs, and increasing patient engagement through regular group therapy sessions.
  • I find working in this department extremely beneficial as I learn something new and valuable every day that I am there, and I love working in this sector. Helping people who may feel as though they do not usually receive adequate assistance and care is a rewarding use of my skills and dedication.
  • I currently hold NSV Clearance Level: CTC – which is valid until 2029. Certificate and reference number available upon request.

Part-time Employee

The Bakery
04.2023 - 07.2024
  • Alongside conducting my studies at University, I had been working at a bakery near my house part-time.

Sales Associate

Ted Baker
10.2022 - 12.2022
  • From October 2022 to December 2022, I worked at Ted Baker in the same shopping mall. This was a temporary seasonal position as a sales associate, the differing management style offered a fresh perspective and experience that I feel allowed me to grow even further and develop my skills even more when working in a team, positively.

Brand Representative / Brand Representative Lead

Hollister
06.2021 - 07.2022
  • This job at Hollister was an exciting step up from my previous employment as it allowed me to feel more involved in the ‘real’ side of customer service, but I easily adapted to the change.
  • The fast-paced nature allowed me to undertake tasks in such a way that made me want to throw myself straight into them and prove to not only my co-workers, but to myself, that I can do everything expected of me and more.
  • After 5 months at the company I was promoted to Brand Representative Lead and became part of the management team.
  • Because of this I now know what it is like to not only work FOR someone and simply fulfil a job, but to take on a role and make it a top priority, to feel like part of a team and realise the impact I can have on a project.
  • This higher-level role also made me comfortable in the routine of working full-time with irregular shift patterns, preparing me for future employment. These roles have allowed me to improve my time management, confidence, written and verbal communication, decision making and versatility both when dealing with customers and completing tasks behind the scenes.

Customer Service Role

Ruxley Manor
10.2020 - 12.2020
  • In late 2020 I had a customer service role at Ruxley Manor’s Christmas Grotto from early October to late December, where I worked with a range of customers from young children to adults.
  • This job improved my communication skills a lot as every role was connected and had to be perfectly synced with each of the others to manage numbers (especially since it was during COVID-19), and also to keep the event running smoothly and create a welcoming and easy-going atmosphere for the customers.
