• Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, good governance and safe care for all clinical services.

• Ensuring safe staffing levels in all clinical areas and ensure all staff are competent to carry out their roles.

• Deputize for the Director of Clinical services during periods of holidays/sickness.

• Responsible for the day to day management of clinical departments (managed several departments throughout the 7 years- day surgery, outpatients, pre assessment and inpatients).
• Providing clear direction and leadership to all clinical staff ensuring that an efficient service is maintained at all times.
• Manage the development, motivation and performance of all clinical staff.
• Responsible for the completion of clinical audits and action plans.
• Investigate incidents and complaints as appropriate and share learning with clinical teams in a timely manner.
• Work towards the departments quality improvement plan ensuring the achievement of CQC standards.
• Maintain a professional, cost effective department.

• Responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the emergency department including managing any clinical governance and any staff development/training.
• Ensure patients receive high quality safe clinical care and a good patient experience.
• Participate in all departmental activities and act as an effective team member.
• Provide professional leadership within the clinical area.
• Ensure excellent channels of communication between all member of the multi disciplinary team.

Working closely with the health visitors to deliver services to children and their families at home. Giving advice and support on a range of problems such as feeding, sleep, immunizations, accident prevention and many more. Identify health needs and improving the health and wellbeing of families by promoting health and reducing inequalities, Responsible for a managing a case load which included disadvantaged families, safeguarding and domestic violence.

Managing the safe and effective care of patients in all areas within the department (resuscitation, majors and minor injuries). Carrying out quick assessments to gain information about their conditions and ensuring that they are referred to the right department/team. Working within the multi disciplinary team and ensuring all clinical standards are met.

Working with children with learning disabilities and assisting with their activities of daily living. Ensure they are safe and following their care plans as appropriate.
