I left school with many qualifications, I started work, as well as a multi-skills college course immediately for the best experience and education possible. I attended Gower College and qualified in brickwork, carpentry, painting and decorating and plastering trades. I also studied the importance of health and safety and safeguarding whilst working. I really enjoy hands-on work and find myself not able to leave a task until it's completed sucessfuly. I have plenty of experience with trades and have qualified on using many power tools and how to expose of all waste efficiently. I'm a hardworking young man and am willing to try anything to find my future job. I also have a full UK driving licence which has been used in my previous role as a part time delivery driver whilst working in my previous job.
This role enquired me to work unsupervised, and I learnt how to be time effective and organised.
As mentioned previously, I have plenty of experience from past jobs. For example, at Bespoke Coatings LTD we used team-working skills to complete jobs efficiently and quickly, we were also taught to focus on creating a bond with customers to ensure that they were not only satisfied with the work completed but also happy with the customer service provided by the team. I also learnt how to use time effectively in this job as we were dealing with paint jobs. This is the job i was working at whilst still attending college.
When I worked with Jenkinsons Brickwork we worked in a team of 3 to complete jobs such as patios, walls, footpaths, new build extensions, groundwork and Landscaping skills. We used communication and teamwork skills to complete jobs and to make sure the customers were satisfied and that all jobs were done to the best of our ability. All this was done whilst being eager to complete the jobs on time.
I worked for Wales and West aerial services. This role enquired extreme commitment skills as I had to travel across the UK and stay at hotels to ensure the jobs were completed properly. This is also the job where I learnt how to use a variety of power tools such as; combi-drills, sds drills, impact drills, hammers, hand tools multimeters, spirit levels etc. I really enjoyed the hands on work provided with this role and being on site.
My most recent job has been at Fg trew and Son (plumbers merchant) I have worked with this company since February 2023. My role is to approach customers and answer any enquiries they have as I have educated myself about the business. As well as this, I help with fitting the displays, helping deliver stoves, boilers and bathroom suites, taking out old bathroom suites, taking tiles off of the walls, checking stock, and doing quotes. This is a small business meaning communication is extremely important. I had to become extremely reliable in this role as it was a small company meaning each person had their own role and no one else could take over. As a result of this, I had to always be punctual and present.
I've also helped tidy and clean out gardens for experience which is where I learnt how to use garden tools such as hedge strimmers, grass strimmers, lawnmowers etc.
