Highly motivated Psychology graduate with a First-Class BSc in Psychology in Education and current MSc Clinical Neuroscience student at UCL, seeking an Assistant Psychologist role within stroke rehabilitation. I bring foundations in neuropsychology, research and report writing, and clinical neuroscience, alongside developing experience in specialist stroke settings.
During my undergraduate degree, I conducted an independent research project and completed multiple assessed scientific reports, developing advanced skills in critical appraisal, data analysis, and high-quality scientific writing. During my undergraduate training, I also contributed to a PhD research project using EEG to investigate cortical responses to vibration stimuli applied to the fingers, which enhanced my understanding of experimental neurophysiological methods and provided valuable insight into the participant experience, reinforcing the importance of clear communication, comfort, and empathy when working with patients undergoing neurological and neuropsychological assessment. MSc training has further strengthened my understanding of brain-behaviour relationships, including an optional module focused on clinical manifestations of stroke, which provided in-depth knowledge of stroke pathologies, cognitive and emotional sequelae, recovery trajectories, and implications for rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care.
I am currently undertaking a research project investigating the nature of memory impairment in acute stroke under the supervision of Dr Edgar Chan at the National Hosptial for Neurology and Neurosurgery, gaining experience in clinically relevant research, working with records of neurological patient populations, and translating research findings into meaningful clinical insights. In addition, I have attended stroke and TIA clinics at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, shadowing stroke doctors and consultants. This experience enhanced my understanding of patient pathways, assessment processes, and the lived impact of stroke, whilst developing my confidence in professional communication, observing sensitive patient interactions, and appreciating the importance of compassionate, patient-centred care within busy clinical environments.
I offer a strong ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, where I prioritise clear communication, organisation, and personable qualities. I am extremely driven and keen to expand my expertise further whilst making a postive impact to patient's lives. I am committed to developing my career within an NHS setting.
