At school I got the opportunity to support children with additional learning needs. I built solid relationships with the children and helped them achieve and excel in the classroom. I attended parents evenings to meet parents and offer positive and constructive feedback about their child's learning.
This experience led me down a educational path driven in supporting children, particularly those with educational needs and differences.
Working in Primary Care has supported my desire to work with those with additional needs; I have supported patients with challenging problems and demanding behaviours. It was during this time I learned key skills such as communication, confidentiality, prioritising, accuracy, honesty, following protocols and policies. I have learned so much about health and social care, the demand and expectations of people and the needs that drive them.
