In my role as a cafe assistant, I had the following responsibilities:

• Kept up-to-date knowledge about menu items to guide customers effectively.
• Prepared hot and cold food and beverages for customers as requested.
• Handled cash transactions accurately whilst also minimising discrepancies at the end of shift.
• Managed take-away orders efficiently, catering to the needs of busy customers.
• Maintained a clean and organised work area, contributing to efficient service delivery.

I returned to Tesco for a second time at Christmas as I enjoyed working in a fast paced customer environment previously.

• This job requires strong customer service skills and independent thinking.
• I operated scanning equipment to identify products and process payments.
• I followed all health and safety protocols for handling food and other products.
• I was required to use my initiative to solve problems that customers incurred.
• I sought to enhance customer satisfaction by providing prompt, courteous service at the checkout.

My job required me to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This included:

• I maintained stock levels to ensure product availability at all times.
• I responded courteously to customer needs, directing them towards desired products if needed.
• Adhering to health and safety standards and collaborating with team members to support store operations.
• In addition to my core responsibilities, I was also trained as a multi-skilled employee to cover other departments.
• My time in this role highlighted my enjoyment of customer interaction, encouraging me to seek similar roles.

During my work experience, I completed various tasks. Including:

• Lifting heavy aircraft components, assembling aircraft parts, boxing up goods for dispatch to customers and procuring goods for the company.
• I was working 9-5 each day during which I could complete a range of tasks which helped me gain insight into the working environment, I also interacted with a variety of people who helped me learn.
• I chose this work experience primarily due to its links to the aviation industry.
