I am a dedicated and adaptable FY2 doctor with diverse clinical experience across general medicine, acute medicine, trauma & orthopaedics, general surgery, geriatrics, and general practice. I will also complete an Accident & Emergency rotation. I am passionate about acute and internal medicine, with good experience in managing complex and acutely unwell patients. I aspire to enter Internal Medicine Training with a view to specialising in Acute Medicine, combining rapid decision-making, multidisciplinary teamwork, and patient-centred care to improve outcomes in high-pressure settings.

FY1 - General/Internal Medicine

Completed a rotation in general/internal medicine doctor on ward G South (Respiratory and Endocrinology) at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, managing acutely unwell patients on the ward, coordinating care within multidisciplinary teams, and developing core clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment, and patient communication.

FY1 - Acute Medicine

Completed a rotation in acute medicine, assessing and managing acutely unwell patients in a high-pressure environment on ward J North (AMU) at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Engaged in acute medical clerking, as well as opportunities for clinical procedures such as Lumbar punctures, abdominal paracentesis, and arterial lines for patient's being transferred to critical care.

Teaching/Leadership Experience

  • FY1 Teaching programme - Clinical Simulation (April to August 2024): Ran a teaching programme for 5th year medical students, verbally simulating shifts holding the on-call medical bleep
  • Peer-Led teaching programme (August to December 2024): Ran a Peer-led teaching programme for a variety of medical topics delivered by myself and staff of varying grades from FY1 to consultant.
  • Mess Committee Member/Social Secretary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital (2024-2025): Organised and co-ordinated social events, including a hospital ball, for the medical staff at IRH.

Quality Improvement

  • Quality Improvement Project: How can we improve the medical boarding process?: An ongoing 3-cycle audit seeking to minimise medical patients being innappropriately boarded to surgical wards, looking primarily at length of patient stay.
