Acute Internal Medicine and General Internal Medicine

a. Acute Medical Units: See acutely ill medical patients referred from the A&E and General practice. Valuable experience in time management and organizational skills obtained at AMU.

b. Ambulatory care unit: See many referred cases with the possibility of discharge or outpatient follow-up, including DVT and PE patients.

c. Clinics: Attended numerous clinics in more than eight specialties, including neurology and stroke. Experience includes assessment, dictation, requesting investigations, and initiating treatment.

d. Ward: Medical registrar covering wards at multiple sites.

e. On call: Experience assessing referrals to different specialties. Held the on-call bleep during my shift in respiratory, elderly medicine, and stroke medicine during regular attachment under consulting supervision and under registrar supervision during neurology and cardiology shifts.

f. HDU and ITU experience: Excellent experience in intensive care. Regularly hold on-call HDU bleeps during day and night shifts. Regularly assessed HDU referrals in the ward. Also, provided senior cover for the medical HDU during my on-calls at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.
