I am a hard-working individual who strives to complete every task to the best of my ability.
I bring good energy to any environment which I find myself in, which is evident in the way I communicate with others. Organization is at the forefront of my skill set, allowing me to prioritize my workload.
I work well both as a part of a team, and independently;
I am not afraid to ask questions, and take satisfaction out of learning new skills. Particular skills include having good mental arithmetic and being able to think on my feet.
As a Prison Custody Officer I have learned a range of skills from working under pressurised environments on a daily basis and having to go into work every day not knowing what the day will bring, to picking up strong organisational skills and being able to work independently as well as part of a team. Constantly liaising with my senior House-block officer as well as management and any other relevant departments when needed.
Full thorough 9 week training was given prior to entering the prison on my first full day at work. I hold a first aid certificate and the ability to perform Control and Restraint techniques as self defence when needed according to the manual.
This job roll includes working 1 in every 2 weekends and having to adhere to several different shift patterns within each week.
