Temitayo Olaotan

Medical Practitioner
Wythenshawe

Summary

I write to express my interest to serve my colleague Internal Medical Graduates (IMGs) as REP at the Wythenshawe site. I joined the Trust in February 2024 and have worked on AMU and within the Medicine division.

Firstly, I am enthused to serve in this role because it is congruent with my personal development goals. While interviewing to join the Trust in 2023, I expressed my desire to improve my leadership skills by seizing opportunities to be mentored by senior clinical leaders and tutors at the Trust, and since joining the Trust, I have been taking an online Masters' in Healthcare Leadership at the University of Warwick. In fact, I had proactively contacted Sara Howells, the former Medical Directors' Leadership Fellow asking to work with her in an observatory/supportive role just before her tenure expired. I have since been working with Dr. Dare Seriki as Junior doctors' lead for the Warfarin/Anticoagulation MCS Trust wide QIP.

Furthermore, I deeply share the concerns of colleague IMGs including the need to belong, and feel psychologically safe and supported at the Wythenshawe site, and at MFT. I also identify definitely with the Trust's Vision to create a workplace where Everyone matters, work together and both staff and patients are dignified.

I have ample experience working in similar roles in the past and believe I have the requisite capacity to function in this role. I believe profoundly in collaborative work and have the work ethic, discipline and character for the servant leadership the role demands.
