Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) during transport to and from school, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
• Monitor children's behaviour and needs , responding appropriately to emotional or behavioural challenges using patience and positive techniques.
• Support children during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring seatbelts, harnesses, or wheelchair restraints are properly and safely secured.
• Provide care and supervision throughout the journey, maintaining a calm, supportive, and reassuring presence.
• Ensure safety standards are met , including checking seatbelts, harnesses, and securing systems before each journey.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding passengers' personal information and needs.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any concerns or observations.
• Work collaboratively with driver and transport team to provide a caring, efficient, and safe service for all children.
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures , reporting any concerns promptly to appropriate authority's.
• Operate accessibility equipment such as ramps, lifts, or securing devices for wheelchairs and mobility aids safely and correctly.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, parents, and school staff to share relevant information about each child's needs or any incidents during transport.
