Summary

I have had a passion for biological sciences since studying this in secondary education. I enjoyed analysing cells under microscopes and was fascinated by the intricate nature of genetics and the role it played ultimately in the integrity of cellular function. During my studies I gained experience in a pharmacy and became fascinated by the number of medicines used in healthcare and how they function within the human body. During my education, I unfortunately lost two family members to cancer and this resulted in my desire to work in a field which involved medicine and improving the quality of human health. The fascination into drug research and desire to contribute to society resulted in me studying a Biomedical degree; where I gained a greater insight into the intricate roles that drugs play on the human body. During this academic experience, I gained relevant experience working in laboratories and was enthusiastic to learn new exciting techniques applied in the biomedical field. In summary, the passion towards the science and enthusiasm to work in a practical setting has focussed my interest towards a career in a laboratory role.
