As a locum GP I dealt with patients presenting with minor illnesses including viral infections, Allergies, musculoskeletal symptoms, and common infections of the respiratory system, ENT, and genitourinary system. I have been involved in the care of complex patients with cardiovascular conditions, endocrine and diabetes, ophthalmology, dermatology, and women's health.

At Special Allocation Services, I dealt with complex patients with behavioral challenges, Drug abuse, and complex mental health conditions. I performed home visits for patients at risk of self-harm and performed capacity assessments.

At Acute Respiratory Hub (Winter pressure Allocation), I reviewed respiratory patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions including chronic cough, asthma, and COPD. I Managed these patients in collaboration with respiratory nurses in the community and worked for the intermediate unit for secondary care referrals for investigation and acute management where required.

Home visits of registered patients for acute health issues in elderly and palliative care.

Audit Experience

I regularly took part in process of audit and quality improvement exercise during my training years.

  • I completed a cycle of audit on safe provision of combine oral contraceptive pills in general practice in line with FSRH guidelines in 2019.
  • Participated in a quality improvement exercise during my 3rd year of GP training and the aim of this exercise was to regularise the diagnostic protocol throughout the health centre for hypertension diagnosis and management.
  • Completed audit and represented at Pennine acute hospitals on Wells scare and VTE in 2016
  • I participated in nation wide audits funded by government and UNICEF while my paediatrics practice in partisan focussed on acute respiratory infection and Tuberculosis in children and audit reports were presented to the National Co-ordinator and Programme Managers.

clinical Procedures

  • During my General Practice posts I continued to achieved precision in my procedurals skills used in community including physical examination and minor clinical procedures including venepuncture, cannulation and administration of acute medications while waiting for transfer.
  • During my training in the Accident and emergency, I gained experience in wound closure (suture, knot tying), suture removal, nerve block injections and took active part in advance life support .
  • I have been clinically trained to perform ECG interpretation provision of intravenous medication, blood transfusion, Foley catheter insertion, wound care and dressing changes, and analysis of blood tests, bone marrow aspirations and CT and MRI scans.
  • Independently I can perform minor and major procedures like maintenance of airway(oropharyngeal/nasopharyngeal airway insertion), lumbar puncture, peritoneal lavage and chest drain insertion.
  • Whilst working as a Paediatric Physician, I was trained to handle neonates and children, and to perform neonatal development monitoring, incubation and paediatrics CPR.

Learning and Teaching Experience

  • I actively participated in learning activities during my training as a GP that includes formal teaching sessions at learning centre, online learning including eLearning from college and informal learning sessions with my clinical educations supervisors. During my employment as a medical registrar and working in care of elderly units I took part in case presentations at multidisciplinary team forums. These have formed the basis for discussions about the future management plans of patients, along with mutual support and education to affected children and their families.
  • I took part in active formal teaching processes with my colleagues and junior doctors .As a manager of immunization programmes and a paediatrics physician I delivered lectures and presented progress to paramedics, junior doctors and trainee midwives on mother and child health, basics of neonatal care and identification of danger signs for neonates (when urgent medical care should be sought).

  • I am proficient in using EMIS system used for patient records and organisation.
  • I am computer literate and have extensive knowledge of the MS Office suite, Adobe (PDFs) and programs used in hospitals and medical centres to maintain patient records and organise data.
