  • I have worked as a four session salaried GP at Croft Medical Centre for fourteen years. In this time I have provided comprehensive patient care, by conducting thorough assessments both face to face and on the telephone.
  • I have collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective healthcare delivery for our patients. I enjoy sharing knowledge with others and am keen to learn from my colleagues.
  • I have been involved in training medical students, nursing staff and other colleagues, fostering a supportive learning environment within the practice. In recent years I have become a GP trainer and although this has been challenging at times, I have felt privileged in helping to shape future GPs.

  • Initially when I was employed by Harley Street Medical Centre this was part of a joint appointment where I did three sessions a week as Communication Skills Lecturer, co-ordinating communication skills sessions for Years 3-5 at Keele Medical School.
  • I was involved in planning, delivering and assessing the communication skills course for years 3-5. I also taught basic communication skills to 1st and 2nd years.
  • This also involved training tutors involved in delivering these sessions.
  • I was also an examiner for OSCEs and was part of the interview panel for Keele Medical School admissions.

This involved six monthly placements in two different GP surgeries. I also had hospital placements in General and Respiratory Medicine, Accident and Emergency and Paediatrics at Pinderfields General Hospital in Wakefield. I also did a further innovative post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology where I work half time in a GP practice and the rest of the time was based on labour ward, GUM clinics, and gynaecology out patients, both in hospital and in the community. I became proficient in coil fitting, ring pessary insertion and endometrial biopsies.

  • Teaching skills- I am a GP Trainer I have always been committed to mentoring and supporting others whether they be colleagues, medical students or GP trainees I gain a lot of satisfaction in watching trainees develop and am ways keen to help with their progression This is further confirmed by my decision to obtain the post graduate certificate in medical education
