I originally worked in childcare and education and have an extensive work history supporting both children and adults often in need and in vulnerable situations. This experience has transferred across to my counselling work and I have now gained 4000+ hours of client time. I have also had extensive personal counselling in excess of 100 hours. I currently work full time for Help Harry Help Others as a Head of Counselling and formerly worked for Birmingham Hospice (formerly John Taylor and St Mary's Hospice). I have run my own part time business since 2016 offering counselling and clinical supervision. I also worked for 5 years as a counselling tutor for Mapleleaf Counselling and Training Centre through my own business. I have also worked as a sessional worker for Base 25, supporting children and adolescents in schools and for Relate on various projects including working with domestic abuse survivors, common mental health problems and parents of children receiving family support. Throughout my work life I have often counselled bereaved individuals including children and I have volunteered for a bereavement service for four years until they lost their funding. I also currently supervise several supervisees who work in various bereavement settings including a hospice. I have done extensive CPD including up to date training in loss and grief which I also deliver training in and safeguarding. I am currently studying ACT therapy. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Service and I am a registered member of the BACP part way through my accreditation journey.
