Summary

Having navigated challenges as a young person myself, I bring a unique understanding and empathy to supporting students facing difficulties. As a naturally calm and happy person, I thrive in team environments and I am committed to fostering a culture where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

As a dedicated Senior Safeguarding Officer with experience in behaviour management, I'm excited to apply for the safeguarding and welfare officer role. My passion for supporting students' well being is paramount. Having relatable skills allows me to have a strong ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships with hard-to-reach children and young people, which enables them to feel safe and comfortable enough to open up. This is often recognised as a key strength in my practice.

I approach each young person with empathy, patience, and without judgement, taking time to understand their experiences, communication styles, and individual needs.

Through consistent, calm, and genuine engagement, I create an environment where young people feel heard, valued, and respected. This helps to break down barriers and encourages them to share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns, even when they might struggle to do so with others. I use active listening and professional curiosity to ensure that their voices are captured accurately.

I believe I would be an asset to your team and I really do look forward to your response.
