  • Coach and support the 28 engineers in the complex field team, returning customers in the copper and fibre network. Also, completing challenging fibre provides part of the 'Step 1' process.
  • Carry out the safety checks on the team and supporting the surrounding teams in the South Wales area.
  • Supporting my manager in completing local environmental checks and organising and managing the clean up in these areas.
  • Keep all team members up to date with local and national safety briefings and working with the team on their concerns.
  • Carrying out checks and entering them on the CARM system. Also, completed additional checks to complete, NRSWA & Scaffolding checks.
  • Working with the team to complete work and supplying coaching on the LD&R systems for when standards were not met.
  • Supporting the manager in keeping all engineers happy and ready to work. Doing this by keeping in touch with all members by getting out in the field as much as possible if this is not possible then a call for just a catch up and check-in.
  • Keeping management of stores. This is everything from tools to cable which is an every day task. As we can be using over 1000 metres of cable on one job every day.

  • Working on the copper & fibre network to provide new customers and rectify damage for existing customers.
  • Faulting the fibre & copper network on long life tails to find solutions to bring customers back into service.
  • Tasked with managing and building the new fibre networks in the South Wales area. Taking ownership of these PON's and carrying them all the way through to completion.
  • Carrying out checks on behalf of my manager and entering onto the CARM system.
  • Taking ownership of E-side & D-side cable breakdowns in the South Wales area.
  • Going out of patch to England & North Wales to help manage they're workstack. Completing PON's in Coventry to meet FTTP targets in the local patch.
