Summary

I started my career as an electrical engineer working on commercial and domestic properties. I gained many important skills whilst in this role such as three phase circuits. I am ambitious so when an opportunity arose to join BT Openreach as a telecommunications engineer, I jumped at it. I have been employed there for 9 years and was the highest performing engineer in the North of England for a duration of 3 months, an achievement I was very proud of. I started out working on the copper network but quickly saw how fibre was developing and wanted to increase my skill set, this included maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure within safety critical environments. Whilst in this position I have progressed into a managerial role, this has helped me to develop my leadership skills and I have really enjoyed coaching and mentoring new engineers. I am excited about the opportunity to work at the National Grid and feel my skills, leadership qualities and passion for engineering would make me an asset to the team.
