Reeve Thornley

For 6 days a week for 15 months I have been delivering newspapers on my bike for the Worcester News to different houses which really helped improve my independence and gaining knowledge within a working environment.

When I did my Silver Cadet week in Mazak I learnt what working in a workplace environment was like as I did SMD , SSD AND ESA in that week, I learnt how to communicate and work with other people in a team and how to take an instruction and develop that into practical work.

During my work experience I worked in a kitchen which really helped improve my communication skills to another level. This then helped improve my teamwork in the kitchen with the other chefs. I also worked front of house as part of hospitality this meant working with members of the public on a day to day basis.
