Since taking on the role of Stock and Standards Manager my job has had a few different responsibilities within it. These are as follows;

• Improving stock accuracy by creating and overseeing a PI plan to ensure the stock on our shelves is reflected correctly on our stock file.
• Managing and coordinating a team of staff to decant and put away our daily stock order in a way that maximises efficiency. The main goal to have our stock on our shelves correctly and as quick as possible.
• Communicating with customer services and/or stock chase when an issue arises. This can be anything from stock not being delivered to faulty stock needing booking out and anything in between.
• Checking our Goods in Transit screens daily to ensure we are in compliance with audit protocols with regards to purchase orders coming into branch.

General warehousing duties included;

• Picking parts in a timely manner to ensure customer deliveries were completed as soon as possible.
• Decanting and storing the daily stock order and exhaust order away.
• Taking part in regular PI counts to keep the stock as accurate as possible.
• Picking and processing stock cleanses.

While I held this position I would also regularly cover the warehouse manager when he was absent as I was a senior member of the warehouse. I would take charge of customer credits during this time and also manage the other warehouse staff to keep standards and morale high.

As most of the jobs we would be working would be in someone's house site cleanliness was the most important part of my job. Helping the Plasterer with anything from heavy lifting to mixing plaster was also part of my duties. Being a friendly and personable presence to customers who we would be face to face with most days was a huge part of the job also.
