I am currently Assistant Headteacher with deputy designated safeguarding lead responsibilities. I currently lead key stage 2, the foundation curriculum, maths, provision for all children speaking English as an additional language, the School Council and I teach Year 5. I am also a mentor and tutor for our early careers teachers and and currently safeguarding governor for the school.
As role as class teacher, I worked with a Year 1 class to teach the full range of primary subjects. I used behaviour management strategies effectively to keep a calm classroom and was able to implement innovative teaching straegies to engage all of the children in their learning. I worked as part of a team to plan engaging lessons to support all children to achieve their very best. I made os of both formative and summative assessment in order to report on the children's progress.
As a newly qualified teacher, I promoted inclusion within the classroom, ensuring equal opportunities for all children and created lessons, with adaptations, that could support them in achieving their very best. My teaching was always adapted in order to cater for the wide range of needs of the children in the setting. I worked with full teams around the children, including police, social care and medical teams in order to support both children and their wider families. In this role, I used both formative and summative assessment to feed back to parents at both parents meetings and in end of year reports.
