  • I was hired via my TA supply agency to be a temporary 1:1 with a child in year six. I support this child full time along with other children in her class. I have built a great relationship with the child, especially in such a short amount of time, I enjoy working with the class and helping other children in any way I can.

  • After finishing my apprenticeship, I started doing some supply work as a Teaching Assistant, I worked at three different schools covering where necessary and gained lots of skills working with children with SEN. I communicated amongst parents and outside professionals, I did 1:1 work with various pupils across the school, whether that meant working out of class with a child, or completing a bike ability course with a child who has autism. I delt with behaviour incidents and resolved them, I reported incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns to the DSL and CT etc.

Volunteering experience

  • Girls Only Skate Event Coach 2024-09-Current: I host a Girls-Only skate night at my local indoor skatepark. I organise these events, and coach skateboarding voluntarily as well. I organise the events on social media, and I also film and edit videos for the account. This has sparked a lot of interest, and it helps many women feel confident in male-dominated action sports.
  • Helen O’ Grady, Volunteer, Northwich, 2019-09-2020-06: I volunteered on a Saturday morning at a drama club called Helen O’ Grady in Northwich working with different groups of school age children.
  • Stagecoach, Volunteer, 2019-08: During the summer I also helped out a summer school with Stagecoach, where children aged 4-18 had just five days to prepare a show and perform in it. I helped by looking after the children, making costumes and assisting in different workshops.
  • S.T.R.I.D.E., Participant, Northwich, 2017-09-2018-09: During my time at college, I took part in a scheme called S.T.R.I.D.E., where we went to different primary schools across Northwich and taught them about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
  • BUDDIES, Volunteer, 2017-09-2018-05: I spent a year volunteering for a youth club called BUDDIES, for 13-26 year olds with learning disabilities. I helped by singing, playing sports and doing crafts with the young people.
  • Stockley Farm Park, Volunteer, Arley, 2016-06: Whilst at high school I arranged a week’s work experience at Stockley Farm Park at Arley. I helped to show visitors around, including members of the public and primary school children.
