I am a dedicated, compassionate, and approachable individual with the enthusiasm for supporting children, young people, and families through difficult circumstances. I have a strong ability and the resilience to build trusting relationships and create safe, supportive environments where individuals feel listened to, valued, and understood.
I have a good understanding of mental health, trauma, and the impact that domestic abuse can have on children and families. I use a person-centred and empathetic approach when communicating to provide emotional support while promoting resilience, wellbeing, and positive outcomes as well as building and encouraging motivation.
I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and am confident working both independently and as part of a team. I am a good listener, and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds, taking all situations into account. I am also skilled in interpreting policies and guidelines and producing clear, accurate, and detailed reports.
I have knowledge of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles, which supports my understanding of emotional wellbeing and abuse. I have completed safeguarding and child protection training and have a strong awareness of my responsibilities in protecting vulnerable children and adults.
I am calm, patient, organised, and adaptable, and I work well under pressure while maintaining a compassionate and non-judgemental approach. I hold a full driving licence and am committed to providing high-quality support that empowers children and families to make positive changes.
In addition to my professional experience, I volunteer as a counsellor, where I continue to develop my skills in active listening, emotional support, and helping individuals work towards personal growth and improved mental wellbeing.
