I am a dedicated and hardworking young man willing to learn new skills and try new experiences, in order to better myself.
I have been a very enthusiastic bar supervisor for the last two years, demonstrating my strong understanding surrounding the hospitality industry and all the products I have been selling.
My time as a supervisor has given me time to improve my skills which are transferable to all jobs types such as:
I helped management open up this venue back in June 2021, I helped construct the layout of the bars and stock rooms, while helping train the new staff in 2 weeks of training.
As a supervisor my role was to be in charge of the bar team while I was on shift, helping me find my mix of leadership styles that earnt the respect of my team and allowing them all to be heard. I mentored junior bar tenders and bar back as well as training multiple new starters.
I was also charged with ordering, taking stock takes, overseeing delivery shifts and invoicing; as part of my training.
In addition, I continued developing my knowledge and understanding of the bar and the products within it.
I was selected to be apart of the new venue opening training team in February 2022, in which I trained the new bar tenders during their two weeks training.
For 5 days of the training I was the only one training the bar; helping improve my confidence while talking to large groups of people and my confidence in my own ability of my knowledge and to train large groups of people.
I explained all of the various opening and closing procedures, as well as how to operate safely and efficiently in the stock rooms and cellar.
I also would go through with them the menu and all the products in it. Showing them upselling techniques with different spirits as well as a background and understanding on the products they are selling.
In addition, I trained them all on how to make our house cocktails as well as some classic cocktails.
I started off as a part time barback, while completing my A-Levels. In which my role was to clean glasses, prepare garnishes for the bar, re-stock the bar with anything that was missing or needed.
I was then promoted to bar tender which I continued working part time, until after the lockdown restrictions were lifted in which I went full time.
Working on the bar of Flight Clubs flagship site and being surrounded by experienced bar tenders, helped me pick up extensive cocktail knowledge and a vast understanding of the products I was Selling.
In my time on the bar I was able to develop my skills in communication, customer service and conflict management.
