I am currently enrolled in the NC Mechanical Engineering program at Altens Campus. My educational journey began at Harlaw Academy in 2018, where I left last year with two Higher and six National 5 qualifications.
Apart from my college commitments, I hold a part-time position as a bus driver at Stagecoach, stationed at Aberdeen Depot. The opportunity to join Stagecoach arose during my final school exams when there was a city-wide demand for bus drivers. Possessing both a car license for over a year and a motorcycle license made me eligible for the position. I've worked full-time during summer and winter breaks, as well as in October and during spring breaks.
Being a passionate sports enthusiast, I engage in various sports activities. I am a qualified Scottish Football Referee, officiating games throughout the Aberdeen city & shire, and occasionally taking on opportunities to referee in other parts of the country or abroad. My sports background also includes playing baseball before coming to Scotland.
One of my favourite pastimes is acting in the theatre during my spear time, contributing to a charity focused on promoting Italian culture. Beyond my academic and work commitments, I am dedicated to spreading awareness and appreciation for Italian culture through my involvement in acting.
Throughout my school years, I have actively volunteered for various causes, particularly for my Bronze and Silver DofE awards. Notable volunteering experiences include supporting events such as the MLB European Series in London, contributing to the British Heart Foundation, and upcoming volunteering at the Paris 2024 Olympics this summer. I find great joy in dedicating my time to areas I am passionate about.
Outside of college, I work part-time as a bus driver for Stagecoach at Aberdeen Depot, holding a category D license that I acquired during the summer while awaiting my SQA Exam results.
As a transportation professional, I am dedicated and efficient, with a proven track record in ensuring passenger safety and satisfaction. I excel in effectively communicating with passengers by announcing upcoming stops and potential route delays. My commitment lies in providing a seamless travel experience through clear and timely communication.
I am proactive and adaptable, bringing extensive experience in offering flexible working patterns to meet peak business demands. My skills lie in optimizing workforce efficiency and productivity through strategic scheduling and resource allocation. I am committed to fostering a positive work environment while ensuring operational excellence during high-demand periods.
In emergency situations onboard buses, I am compassionate and professional. I possess a demonstrated ability to provide first aid to passengers. My strong emergency response skills enable me to remain calm and composed under pressure. I am dedicated to ensuring passenger safety and well-being by promptly assessing medical needs and initiating appropriate actions, including calling for advanced medical support.
Summer Scholarship at Wood Group
I submitted my application through Career Ready and was chosen to participate as a Skill Pool Intern. This program offered a structured four-week paid placement within the offshore engineering department. My assigned project involved developing a strategy to minimize plastic waste in the office environment. Leveraging my analytical skills, I collaborated closely with colleagues to design and implement a new policy. Additionally, I took charge of advertising and promoting this initiative. At the conclusion of my placement, I presented my findings to the HR department. The feedback was exceptionally positive, with plans underway to implement the policy in the near future.
