• Work closely with nurses, clinicians and other health professionals to provide coordinated care.
• Safely obtain samples (urine, sputum, etc.) and transport them to the lab.
• Assist patients with daily activities by supporting them with washing, dressing, toileting and mobility.
• Repositioning and pressure area care help them prevent pressure ulcers by turning immobile patients regularly.
• Serve meals, assist with feeding; and accurately record food and fluid intake.
• Measure and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood glucose levels, reporting to the duty nurse if any concerns.
• Use hoists and other equipment appropriately to assist with patient transfers.
• Engage in education and personal development plans to maintain competence.
• Adhere to NHS standards, including safeguarding health and safety and information governance.
