Matthew Shand

I am studying Biomedical Science at Glasgow Caledonian University and am seeking to gain practical work experience over the summer during the summer period. I have a strong interest in the outdoor environment and physical activities, and activities such as hiking, hill walking, and weight lifting occupy much of my free time.

Having been raised in a rural environment on a farm, I am familiar with livestock systems, seasonal cropping, and enjoy hands on physical work. I understand the the importance of safety, communication, and situational awareness when working around heavy machinery, and vehicle movements on active work sites. I appreciate the need ti follow instruction, communicate clearly, and support colleagues to ensure operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

I am reliable, physically fit, willing to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. I would welcome the opportunity to learn new skills and contribute positively to the team.
