Working in a cinema allowed me to improve on my experienced customer service. The main roles at the cinema includes serving customers at the till and providing a clean space for them to enjoy. From this, I learnt how to be approachable and friendly while greeting customers upon arrival in order to create a positive comfortable environment for them and encourage their return as they are leaving.

Through serving customers at a till, I have learnt how to function a till system and handle cash while providing efficient transactions in a busy environment. Behind the tills, responsibilities include:

• Preparing food and drinks like hotdogs and coffees safely and quickly
• Ensuring the area is kept clean to eliminate any risks of cross contamination
• Maintaining stock levels so that service is smooth and rapid.
• Suggesting combos/cinema specials to increase profit

Aside working on tills, another role of a customer assistant at Vue is to maintain a clean and organised environment in screens and toilet facilities for customers. Responsibilities here include:

• Being vigilant when scanning tickets to ensure that movies being watched are appropriate for customer (checking age if there is an age rating)
• Listening to customer queries and answering them accurately
• Acknowledging complaints and dealing with them swiftly and appropriately
• Cleaning and disposing of bodily fluids/waste

Responsibilities:

• approaching and engaging with customers while being friendly and informative
• listening to the customers needs and helping them pick the correct product for them
• reaching sales targets
• promoting special offers and company incentives

Skills learnt:
