- Tableau development sometimes requires reverse engineering of other developers reports or attempting to move certain Excel based reporting to Tableau. This, alongside the creation of SQL objects and Stored Procedures requires a working knowledge of basic Analyst skills to understand what is being asked and how it might be best interpreted. Preforming checks on the base file data against the initial SQL coding and then also providing SQL coding checks whilst building a dashboard is a must to ensure accurate and quality data is being shown on the product.
- Management of an internal reporting hub website as well as Tableau Server. Controlling access levels and security groups, ensuring backups are generated & monitoring data refreshes, investigating failed refreshes and implementing resolutions.
- Reviewing visualizations and workbooks created by Analysts to ensure performance and compliance to guidelines, such as Style formatting, Sizing of the tabs and dashboard and general data checks against underlying data.
- Tableau Server Admin Work - maintaining and updating of the physical server where Tableau Server was installed, including preforming version updates with backups made in advance.
