My previous institution of employment, Eataly London, was my first ever job. I am Nineteen years of age and just having freshly moved to London it was quite frightening, at first. However, after a week of being a runner, they quickly promoted me to waitressing. I was able to adapt very quickly, and I take great pride in my waitressing skills and expertise. I am very knowledgeable in Italian wine, especially with what foods to pair it with. I know much in depth roots of pasta and pizza. It was required of me to study and know all of this as apart of my training and I took it very seriously. Having worked there for a year I believe I have learnt a tremendous amount of valuable skills to further proceed in the field of hospitality. I am able to hold a tray full of drinks with only one hand, I can clean a table of several dirty plates without stacking the plates on the table in font of the customer ( to further create a more professional performance of service ) ,payments, refunds, allergen knowledge, menu memorisation, etc, I am very fluid when I communicate with my tables, creating a safe and comfortable environment whilst dining is very important to me. You need to be able to read your customers by the energy they put off, I have learnt to differentiate customers who would not like to talk as much and the i proceed to not push them in the department of friendly conversation, in comparison to those who are more open, I tend to grab onto the chance to communicate and build a bond with them, its great for word of mouth and then further promotes them to regular customers. In my previous place of work i had multiple returning customers who would ask for me in specific. There is of course much more i could always learn, which is why I am here.
