Madeleine Miller

I used good communication skills to work on a team project that focussed on working with NHS and various mental health organisations to improve accessibility for deaf young people. This encouraged my skills in problem-solving, thinking on my feet and thinking of new solutions.

Also, build on my public speaking and persuasion skills by speaking to representatives of the Scottish government to encourage them to allocate more funding to provide improved services to deaf young people.

I was a key young person at a workshop for representatives of other charities such as National Lottery, The Prince's Trust, The Diana Trust, Scope and Bernardo's on making social action more accessible for deaf young people.

Also completed my SQA Work Experience Award with the charity where I excelled in punctuality as I was early every day and in administrative work using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Also, used planning and organisation skills to plan the AGM (Annual General Meeting) and organise the raffle that was held at the event.
