My main responsibilities involve reporting to the pharmacist in charge

• Supported the pharmacist with daily tasks, resulting in a more efficient working environment.

This pharmacy was an online - delivery based pharmacy, The responsibilities and requirements were quite different to a community pharmacy. Most of my work here was very much dealing with care homes rather than individual patients.

• Making sure the care home ordered the patients medications in an orderly manner for their monthly cycle.
• Reconciling prescriptions with what the home actually ordered for each patient.
• Contacting GP surgeries or surgery pharmacists to request any prescriptions that had been missed.
• Making sure the entire care home had accurate MAR forms for carers to follow and fill in when administering medications to the residents,
• Then came the ordering of the stock required and dispensing the medications according to the pharmacies SOPs.

I also ordered prescriptions for the core patients and dispensed when required. Stock rotation is also vitally important in this pharmacy.

I did pharmacy dispensing as a locum for this 3 months so I have plenty of experience in different settings using different PMR systems. I can use rxweb, analyst, camascope, atlas and limited usage of pharmacy manager. I also have knowledge of clara electronic CD, rp logs and fridge records.

This was where I did my dispenser training. I learned how to label and dispense medications according to doctors instructions. I learned all about patient confidentiality, legal and professional standards, rules and regulations, compliance, accuracy and everything that is required to become the confident, competent dispenser that I am today.
