Supporting Information

For the past 30 years my career in the NHS has involved providing high level secretarial and PA support to a range of professionals and across a number of departments.  Throughout my career I have gained the trust and respect of those professionals with whom I work.

On a day to day basis my role involves managing the diary of the executive and assisting them with the management of their inbox, e.g. drawing important emails and messages to their attention and drafting responses or initiating a holding response until the executive is available.  I arrange and service numerous meetings, liaising with members including external partners and non-executive directors including arranging meeting dates, booking venues and arranging refreshments as required.  As well as producing minutes and action logs for the meetings, I also draft the agendas, collate papers and distribute to meeting participants.  I regularly engage with external agencies such as NHS England, the Care Quality Commission and Nursing & Midwifery Council.

Due to the nature of the role of the Chief Nurse, I understand the need for confidentiality at all times.

On an annual basis I liaise with members of staff and have collated all the required information for the Trust's annual Quality Account including liaising with the Lead Governor, the local ICB, Healthwatch and Health Select Commission for their statements.  I then submit to the Chief Nurse ready for submission and final approval to the Audit Committee, Quality Committee and Trust Board before its publication on the Trust's website and notification to NHS England.

I am self motivated and able to use my own initiative to manage and prioritise my workload.  As well as being able to work without direction, I enjoy working as part of a team and have developed good working relationships with my peers, Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors.  I am confident that I have the skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil the role however I am also willing and keen to learn new IT systems, different ways of working and welcome the opportunity to join your team.
