I am a third-year mental health nursing student at Teesside University, set to qualify in January 2026. In 2022, I commenced my journey in student nursing, inspired by exceptional nurses who encouraged me to enhance my skills and cultivate compassion in my practice.
In March 2020, I commenced my tenure with the NHS as a Healthcare Support Scientific Assistant in Clinical Trials at South Tees. In 2022, I progressed to the role of Clinical Trials Assistant at North Tees Hospital, providing support to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology departments. While employed with the NHS, I have gained essential values and extensive expertise; I contributed throughout the Covid pandemic and was included in a paper for a study known as COG-UK.
Throughout my student nurse training, I have gained experience in mental health with the South Intensive Treatment Team, learning disabilities at Sanctuary Assisted Living, the PICU acute unit, NHSOP, and CAMHS. I aspire to continue learning and to have the opportunity to assist individuals in need of support consistently.
Whilst at university I have participated in skill training in Basic Life Support, movement and handling, and infection prevention and control. Additionally, I will gain further experience via placements over the years while adhering to the NMC Code. If given the opportunity, I would desire nothing more than to utilise my skills and expertise. I am a diligent, positive, and mature individual who collaborates effectively and is enthusiastic about furthering my knowledge.
