I currently work as an Assistant Manager in the cafe at Norfolk Lavender, working my way up from only doing 1 day a week while my youngest child was a baby to now doing 4 days a week helping with the running of the cafe.
I deal with the daily serving of customers, doing staff rotas, ordering, liaising with senior management, problem solving, answering emails, taking bookings and arranging functions as well as the day to day running of the cafe including being a key holder and cashing up.
Main duties whilst working at the gift shop included the daily serving of customers, keeping the shop stocked and tidy, being responsible for placing orders with companies and meeting with reps, dealing with deliveries, opening and closing the shop including cashing up and alarms etc. I also joined the business owner on several trips to trade fairs, to find new products to sell in the shop, I particularly enjoyed this aspect of the job, being quite an efficient organised person I was often asked to help plan these trips and other events when required.
I managed the general running of a busy town centre restaurant during both daytime and evening shifts.
I served customers, managed the bar, assisted with staff rotas and training, and conducted stock taking for ordering. I also supported the owner's other business by working on a deli counter.
I worked during school holidays and weekends, progressing to full-time role after leaving education.
During this time I did general cafe waitress roles, helped in potwash, served customers, working my way up through the team to work in the kitchen assisting with the preparation of food and other kitchen duties.
